How Much Does Real Estate Photography Cost in San Diego? The 2026 Price Guide
Professional listing photos in San Diego start at $185 for 25 photos with us, and a full package with photos, drone, and a floor plan runs $329–$479 depending on the home's size. Photo-only shoots are priced by photo count. Anything measured or scanned, like 3D tours and floor plans, is priced by square footage, so the same package costs more on a 5,000 sq ft home than on a condo.

What does real estate photography cost in San Diego in 2026?
There is no single market rate. Prices vary by photographer, by what's included, and by how the shoot is priced. The most useful thing we can do is show you our real numbers and explain how to compare any other quote against them. These are the same prices on our pricing page, which is always the current source.

How much do photography packages cost by home size?
Most agents don't order one service. They order a set, and a package is cheaper than adding the same services one at a time. We have three, each with a fixed price for each home-size band.
Every package can be changed. You can upgrade the photo count, the drone count, or the tour level at booking and pay only the difference. Our guide to which package fits which home walks through condos, single-family homes, luxury listings, and vacant properties.
What drives the price up or down?
Home size
Size matters most for anything that is scanned or measured. A 3D tour of a 4,500 sq ft home takes more scan positions and more processing than a 1,200 sq ft condo. That's why tours and floor plans are priced in size bands while photos are not.
Photo count
More photos means more time on site and more editing. For most homes under 2,500 sq ft, 25 to 40 photos covers every room well. Our guide on how many photos a listing needs goes deeper.
Add-ons that need a second visit
A real twilight shoot means coming back at dusk. That's a separate trip, which is why it costs more than a virtual twilight edited from a daytime photo.
Drone airspace
Much of coastal San Diego sits under controlled airspace. A licensed pilot can usually get authorization at no extra charge, but some addresses can't be flown at all. Check the San Diego drone airspace guide before you promise a seller aerials.
Speed
Standard delivery is the next day. Same-day rush is $95. If a photographer quotes three to five days as standard, the lower price may cost you a weekend of showings.
Distance
We don't charge travel within 40 miles of our Escondido studio, which covers most of the county from Oceanside to Chula Vista. Beyond that, a flat travel fee is shown before you book.
What should be included in the price?
Two quotes with the same number can be very different deals. Before you compare prices, check that each one includes:
Editing. Color correction, straightened vertical lines, and window views that hold. Per-photo editing fees on top of the shoot price are a red flag.
MLS-ready files. Sized for the MLS and the portals, plus full resolution for print.
A license to market the listing. You should be able to use the photos everywhere the listing appears without paying again.
A reshoot policy. Ask what happens if a photo is unusable or the weather turns.
A delivery time in writing. "Next day" should mean the next day.
What a finished, edited frame should look like: straight lines, true color, and a window that still shows the outside.
What extra fees should I ask about before booking?
Travel or mileage, and where the free zone ends
Rush delivery, and what "standard" delivery actually means
Cancellation and reschedule fees, including for weather
Fees for re-edits or swapped photos
Charges for photo edits like item removal or sky replacement
Whether edited photos come with the disclosure California now requires
That last one matters more in 2026. Under California's AB 723, digitally altered listing photos must be disclosed, with the original available. A cheap edit that leaves you without the original is a compliance problem. Our AB 723 guide explains what counts.
Is the cheapest photographer good enough?
Sometimes. For a small, simple listing, a competent low-cost photographer can do the job. The risk is in what you can't see on the quote: dark rooms, leaning walls, slow delivery, and no reshoot if it goes wrong. Those cost you with the seller, who judges you by the photos.
A fair way to judge value is to look at finished work, not price. Run any photographer's recent listings through our good vs. bad listing photos check, then compare prices among the ones who pass. Our own work is in the portfolio.
Frequently asked questions
How much do real estate photos cost for a typical San Diego home?
With Turnkey Media, photos alone are $185 for 25, $235 for 40, or $285 for 60. Most agents choose a package: Essential (photos, drone photos, and a floor plan) is $369 for a 1,500–3,000 sq ft home.
Who pays for listing photos, the agent or the seller?
Usually the listing agent, as part of marketing the home. Some agents build it into their listing agreement. It is negotiable between you and your seller.
Do I pay before or after the shoot?
With us, either. You can pay after delivery, when you unlock your full-resolution files, or pay at booking and save 5%. No deposit is required.
Why are 3D tours priced by square footage but photos are not?
A tour or floor plan requires scanning and measuring every room, so the work grows with the home. Photos are priced by how many you order.
Is drone photography extra?
Drone photos start at $175 for 5 on their own, and they are included in all three of our packages where the airspace allows.
